A Bothersome Man

This Friday night, Movie Night In The Back Yard presents A Bothersome Man (2006). In this Norwegian black comedy, a man finds himself in a strange city (that looks a lot like Oslo) where the people are nice but the food is flavorless. I've been waiting to show this unique film since the first time I saw it at the Portland International Film Fest 2 years ago. It might be the best Norwegian film you will ever see. Don't miss it.

Persepolis

This Thursday, Movie Night In The Back Yard presents Persepolis (2007). A animated version of Iranian author Marjane Satrapi's popular graphic novel, Perseoplis has won critical acclaim (and an oscar nomination) for it's unique perspective and original animation style. This is the only film of the season that I haven't seen yet, but I think it might be one of the best this year. Be sure to make it to the back yard this Thursday!

Rushmore

This Friday, Movie Night In The Back Yard presents Rushmore. What can we say? MNITBY loves Wes Anderson films, and this is only the second one we've shown. (We projected Bottle Rocket back in 2003.) In Rushmore, Jason Schwartzman's character, the founding member of numerous prep school clubs and societies, is put on academic probation. This is a true classic. Don't miss it!
